General Information

The Fermi LAT Collaboration Meeting will take place at the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) in the Earth and Marine Sciences (EMS) building.

The plenary sessions of the meeting will be held in room B206 in the EMS building with splinter sessions in nearby rooms (B210 and B214). Media information for the room used during the plenary sessions can be found here. Each of the other two rooms will be equipped with a projector. Check the section Where to Go Upon Arrival at UCSC for logistic information.

Morning and afternoon coffee breaks will be served in the lobby of the EMS building.

Lunches are included with registration, and will also be served in the lobby of the EMS building.

LAT Collaboration Meeting Registration and Payment Info

Registration Fee: (covers administrative costs, name-tags, lunches, morning and afternoon refreshments).

If you register:

Conference Dinner: (on September 11th, 2019 appetizers and wine will be served at 6:30 pm, dinner will start at 7:00 pm) the cost of the dinner is $50.00 per person. Dinner fee has been raised to $65 on August 17th. The Conference Dinner will be located at the Seymour Marine Discovery Center, part of the University's Long Marine Lab. There will be not trasnportation provided from the LAT collaboration meeting location to the dinner location.

Payment: Your registration is not considered complete until we have received your payment. Our preferred method of payment is via credit card, but if you are unable to pay for your registration via credit card, please email fermilat@ucsc.edu. Receipts: The online registration process will provide you with a printable receipt and an automated confirmation email after you finish registering. If requested, you can be provided with a printed registration receipt.

Parking inside the UCSC campus: It's possible to purchase one or more parking permits through the registration site. Details on where and when to pick the permits up can be found here.

Buses from Santa Cruz to UCSC:

UCSC is very bus friendly. There are several Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District (Metro) buses that go to the campus including (but not limited to) 10,13,15,16,19,20. You will want to get off of the bus at the "College 9 and 10" stop, the bus will announce the stop upon arrival. Shuttles Within UCSC:

To get around the campus, UCSC offers a system of shuttles, also known as the Loop. Since the Fermi LAT Collaboration Meeting is being held during the UCSC Summer Intersession (September 3-20, 2019) the campus shuttles have a specific schedule. Visa Information:

In order to travel to the United States for business, without a visa, you must qualify for entry under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). If you qualify, you must also have authorization through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) prior to boarding a U.S. bound air carrier.

In case your country does not participate in the VWP, you will need to obtain a B-1 visa (for temporary business) in your passport before entering the United States. Please note that obtaining a visa stamp for travel to the United States can be a lengthy process, involving visits to a U.S. Embassy or Consulate.
